Marriage & Family

Proper stewardship and generous giving are more than just financial obligations to a church family, they are first and foremost expressions of worship, thanks and praise for all of God’s blessings.  If you would like to make a contribution to our church family, we invite you to use Online giving.  Some requested the opportunity to use automatic debits as a means of making regular scheduled gifts to FBC.  If you can retain the sense of personal giving as an act of worship while taking advantage of the convenience of scheduled debits, we have provided that option. May God bless you for your generosity.

COUNSELING Guided by His word

Pastor Anderson is a well-educated and highly experienced Biblical counselor.  He is available for marriage and family counseling for those who attend the church.  The basis for counseling at FBC is the authoritative Word of God, rather than psychological principles and relational theories.

If believers are to relate to each other in such a way that pleases God, they must follow the guidelines revealed in Scripture – submitting their hearts to God and guarding against discouragement. Honesty, humility, grace, acceptance, understanding and forgiveness are essential to all God-honoring relationships, especially those within the home.  As a counselor, Pastor Anderson’s role is to guide the couple towards a Biblical resolution of their problem.  He does not provide long-term counseling, nor clinical therapy, nor diagnostic testing.  His counseling ministry is designed to turn the believer’s mind back to the principles of God’s Word and away from a focus on the grievances, heartaches and tensions of their relationship.  Confession, repentance, forgiveness, correction and grace are the mechanisms through which godly living is restored in the home.

Missions is more than a church project or program, it is also a personal and collective awareness that each of us, every day, are to be light in this dark world.  Our light is to shine brightly at home, and extend outward through our community, our state, our nation to the uttermost part of the world.  Missions begins as a matter of the heart, but then continues into our thoughts, actions, and possessions causing us to look for and create opportunities to serve and share our faith.

Days a Year, God Loves You!

Here is what we have going on here at Faith Baptist

Here at Faith Baptist we have a Place for Everyone

Faith Baptist has a diverse network of ministry partners to share the love and compassion of Jesus Christ. Together, we are impacting communities and changing lives.

  • AWANA

Kids represent the greatest opportunity to make a long-term impact on our world for Christ. Awana establishes welcoming, supportive environments where kids, from every background and cultural setting, learn how a personal relationship with Christ affects their everyday lives. This is one way our church is able to reach kids with the gospel and develop long-term disciples.

Kid Connection encompasses the ministries geared towards families and children at FBC.  We have the primary goal of seeing that children discover who God is through the Word of God so that they will turn to Christ for salvation, grow in their knowledge and love of God, and live in grateful response to His grace.  There are multiple opportunities for your children:  Sunday School – An in depth and small group settings to explore God’s word; Children’s Church - For children from Grades 1 – 6 to learn about God through teaching, songs, memory verses, prayer, object lessons, interactive participation and games; and Awana Club- a weekly evangelistic and discipleship program to help your child become spiritually strong.

Pastor Dave's Weekly Email Devotion

Sno-no-mo is the name I am thinking of giving my modified rendition of an anti-snoring headpiece marketed on the Internet for $200. I made mine for $5, and it works. I’ll sell you mine for $100.  Anyway, I have had a snoring problem coupled with a mild sleep apnea for the past few years. I hold my breath, snort, and snore so dramatically that it often wakes me up.  Let me correct that, I USED TO hold my breath, snort and snore.  Now I sleep like a corpse.

My reason for bringing Snonomo to your attention is I think its creation and implementation illustrates a Bible verse about the body of Christ – “the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”  Ephesians 4, Romans 12 and 1 Corinthians 12 all contain instructions to the church concerning how its members should relate to one another in the use of spiritual gifts. Each passage employs the body as a metaphor.

My whole body was involved in a crisis all because of my jaw.  It was dropping while I slept and closing off my breathing passage and depriving me of oxygen.  This would cause me snore, snort or gasp for air, which would awaken me off and on all night, which would make me tired all day. My whole body was suffering because one part of my body was not doing its part.

My whole body was involved in the solution. My back muscles sat me up, my legs picked up my feet, my feet walked over to my lap top, my arms reached out, my hands picked it up, my fingers hit the keys, my eyes saw the ad, my mind read the information, my heart sensed the potential, my wallet prohibited the purchase, and my body kicked into manufacturing gear. I made the Snonomo to help my jaw stay in proper position all night.  It worked. I now sleep all night almost without moving. I almost expect my hair to start growing back.

Nothing in my body chose to judge, condemn or excommunicate my jaw. Instead, my whole body chose to do something to assist my jaw and in so doing assisted my whole body.  Every part supplied, every part did its share, and now every part is feeling the loving edification of sleep.

In Romans 12:1-6, Paul points out that cooperation in the body of Christ requires its members to: 1) present our bodies to God as living sacrifices, 2) be transformed by renewing our minds, 3) to not think of ourselves more highly than we should, 4) to think soberly and accept service is reasonable, 5) to exercise the measure of faith and grace given to us, and then 6) use our gifts.

Many churches are exhausted, afflicted with sleep-apnea, or suffering from over-worked parts because the entire body is not engaged in ministering to the entire body. We are all in this together. When one part hurts the whole body suffers.  This is why Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 12 – “there should be no schism in the body, but the members should have the same care for one another and if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.”

Ask the Lord what He would have you do to minister to the body today.
